In 1981 the Swedish government started a project to develop a dedicated computer to be used in Swedish schools. This project went under the name, TUDIS. The computer that was called COMPIS was developed by a consortium lead by Esselte and later manufactured by Telenova AB, a daughter company to the Swedish public telecommunication company Televerket (now Telia). The computer was very advanced for its time using a 16-bit processor, the 80186 and it also had very advanced graphics. I used a COMPIS in my 9th grade at school.
